Moment App Language learning with AI and native conversation

Overview

The Momento App was born out of the need for a more dynamic, interactive, and personalized language learning experience.

Performance

My involvement in the project ranged from the conception of identity and strategy to the design of the user experience and product interface.

Objective

The main challenge of the project was to create a functional and attractive MVP for investors, validating the app's proposal in the language learning market. To achieve this, some pain points of the audience were identified:

  • Unengaging traditional methods – Many users abandon learning platforms due to a lack of real interaction.

  • Difficulty in finding conversation partners – Finding native speakers to practice with can be challenging, especially for beginners.

  • Lack of personalization – Existing apps do not offer a flow tailored to the level and individual needs of users.

Solution

To solve these problems, we developed an app with the following differentiators:

  • Personalization through AI – The onboarding includes a level assessment to suggest connections and content tailored to the user.

  • Instant connection with native speakers – A matchmaking system connects learners and natives through video calls and chat.

  • Fluid and intuitive experience – The design prioritizes usability, with quick and direct interactions to encourage constant practice.

Results

Although the project was developed as an MVP, it brought valuable insights and positive results:

  • Validation of the idea with investors, highlighting the market potential.

  • Initial tests with users showed high engagement rate, especially in the connection phase with native speakers.

  • Approved design for product evolution, with the possibility of new features in the future.

Moreover, users reported a more intuitive and clear experience in the new purchasing and ticket usage journey within the app.

Learnings

The development of the Momento App brought important learnings about innovative product design and user engagement. Some of the main points were:

  • The importance of an efficient onboarding – A well-structured flow with AI can significantly improve user retention.

  • Iterative testing is essential – Prototyping and constant feedback helped to adjust the experience before the final implementation.

  • Human connections make a difference – The greatest value perceived by users was in real interaction, highlighting the relevance of the approach.
